Tony Kart  was founded in 1958 by Antonio "Tony" Bosio in Prevalle near Brescia in northern Italy. Originally, Tony karts were painted blue and later a metallic green, that color was changed to Tony Kart Green in 1983 when Tony Kart was purchased by Mr Roberto Robazzi and Mr. Carlo Cancarini. At the beginning they worked in the 125 gearbox class and after a short while won a world championship in FC 125 class with the Grade Prix chassis driven by Fabrizio Giovarnardi. After two years experience, Mr Robazzi and Mr Cancarini decided to produce a chassis for 100 cc class too.

Tony Kart chassis have been used to win several championships both nationally and internationally. Its drivers have included Formula One stars such as Michael Schumacher and Jarno Trulli. Tony Kart's product lines include the Kosmic Kart chassis as well as Exprit, RedSpeed, Trulli (few years ago) and Alonso (FA Kart) chassis. Vortex Engines company is part of the OTK Kart Group line products.

Early Tony Karts were painted blue, in the late 70's sometime it appears they may have switched to metallic green. In 1983, the new owners introduced the solid green color that was to become synonymous with Tony Kart.
